The history of the Corsendonk Brewery began in the early Middle Ages in 1398 in the town of Oud-Turnhout, when production began in the brewery and malting plant of the newly founded Corsendonk Abbey. In addition to brewing, the monks living here were primarily engaged in copying codices.
