From the 18th century and the French Revolution onwards, the estate hosted economic activities (and their owners) that developed over the centuries. Between the 18th and 19th centuries, a linen-spinning factory was located on the property. A cheese factory was established there at the beginning of the 19th century. Until 1946, the cheese factory was replaced by a chocolate factory3. Then the Saffrey company belonging to Count Tocqueville created a cider house, which operated until 1954. Finally, in 195414 Philippe Bizouart, the owner at the time, transformed the cider house into a distillery. This distillery initially produced brandies from the Calvados appellation and took the name of the castle as its brand.
