The history of the Cofresh company began in the early 1960s in remote Kenya, when Dinesh Patel founded his company in Nairobi with the aim of producing potato chips and popcorn for local cinemas, wholesalers and schools. The looming political change in 1974 put an end to the booming business. Dinesh and his wife Savita decided to leave Kenya and leave everything behind to emigrate to the UK. After the arrival of the family, Dinesh did not delay, he restarted his business and continues the snack production with his previous passion. Thanks to their hard work and increased demand for authentic Asian snacks, business began to flourish. Dinesh further broadened the product range and began to deliver his products to the entire country. The company's range and the market for its products have continued to expand over time and today Cofresh products can be found in almost all shops selling Asian products and larger supermarkets in the UK. In 2014, the Cofresh brand branched off and gluten-free and vegan chips, snacks, muesli bars were marketed under the Eat Real brand, while traditional Indian spiced chips and snacks remained under the Cofresh brand. From 2017, the Eat Real offer was expanded with Bio Chips. Eat Real snacks are made from natural ingredients, without artificial flavor enhancers, artificial colors and preservatives.
