The history of the company dates back to 1878: the 20 years old Silviano Venchi of Turin loved chocolate so much that he spent all his savings on two bronze cauldrons and began experimenting with making chocolate, first in his apartment and then in a small workshop in Turin. These experiments were so successful that a few years later, he made the Nougatine, a chocolate with chopped caramelized Piedmont hazelnuts coated in extra dark chocolate, and the first Venchi store, “Piedmont’s most elegant chocolate shop,” appeared. Even today, passion, meticulous care, and the courage to experiment with making chocolates remain.
