Etsu Japanese Gin is made at the Asahikawa Distillery located on the Japanese Island of Hokkaido. Citrus, yuzu and light floral blossom notes hit you on the nose with peppers, green tea, meadow berries, more yuzu and sansho pepper on the palate, using water sourced from the Taisetu Mountains and bottled at 43% ABV.
Etsu Handcrafted Gin was created in Japan on the island of Hokkaido, a popular winter holiday destination for skiers because there is a lot of snow there during the cold season. As the name suggests, the production is carried out with loving care by hand. The Japanese term "Etsu" means "pleasure", which also makes it immediately clear what one can look forward to when enjoying the gin from here.
Etsu Gin uses a secret Asian recipe using several Asian botanicals (berries, peppers, teas and fresh citrus from the Japanese islands) including yellow Yuzu which dominates this floral gin. Nose of floral and vegetal, notes of citrus fruits with a yuzu predominance. Fresh and well-balanced, peppers with hints of green tea and berries. Sansho pepper ending on yuzu aromas finish.
