Montee de Tonnerre is a Premier Cru vineyard on the Eastern side of the Serein river in Chablis region.The Premier Cru area with the greatest reputation. Known as the continuation of the Grand Cru vineyards, the Montée de Tonnerre area is known to winemakers for its complexity, floral notes and the oily structure of the wines.

Charles Louis Noël Billaud planted his first vines on the Mont de Milieu in 1815 after returning from the Napoleonic wars. Bernard Billaud took over the domaine in 1991, and is helped by his nephew Samuel. The domaine owns land in some of the best holdings in all of Chablis, with four Grands Crus, four Premiers Crus, a Village Chablis and a Petit Chablis. The winery is located just south of the village of Chablis on the river Serein. In 2014, the domaine was purchased by Domaine Faiveley of Nuits-Saint-Georges.
