The famous E. Guigal winery was founded by Etienne Guigal in 1946 in the Cotie Rotie region of the northern Rhône Valley. His son Marcel joined him in 1961 and is still actively running the estate. The winery is a pioneer in the Rhone Valley who makes wines in a modern way.
Typically a blend of 4% Viognier and 96% Syrah from Cote Brune and Cote Blonde parts of the appellation. Opens with round, soft tannins that are followed by rasberry, blackberry and vanilla. Aged for 36 months in French oak barrels, 50% of which were new barrels.
