Although Knob Creek is primarily considered a full-blooded Kentucky Straight Bourbon whiskey, a few years ago they also appeared on the market with rye whiskey. The success did not last, as it was chosen as the best rye whiskey at the 2012 San Francisco Spirits Competition and was awarded a double gold medal. Thanks to rye whiskey, American bartenders talk about it as a benchmark as the best cocktail ingredient. It was created based on Booker Noe's original vision, that is, a full-bodied, decisive drink was born. The whiskey produced in small volumes is matured in deeply charred wooden barrels and then bottled at 100 proof, i.e. at 50 degrees. The most important ingredient in this case is rye, which gives this whiskey a piquant, spicy taste.
