Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot & Cabernet Franc. It spent 16 months in oak barrels.
Chateau Bellegrave du Poujeau's vineyards in Haute-Médoc are located in a rocky, gravelly, well-drained glade surrounded by pine trees and sheltered from the north winds, where wines are made in a Burgundian rather than Medoc style. It is located 15 km from Bordeaux, adjacent to the Grand Crus areas of the Médoc. Originally, the Cru Bourgeois vineyard belonged to Chateau Duthil until 1932, after which it was abandoned and planted with apple trees.
Thanks to the terroir, when smelling the wine, we encounter intense mineral and blackcurrant notes, with a hint of cedar in the background. Concentrated in the mouth, medium-bodied and extremely elegant, the red and black berries show a nice balance in a long sip.
