Their history dates back more than a century and is based on people and passion, like all great businesses. Eusebio Picco, the son of a rice farmer, and his wife Marianna moved from Asigliano Vercellese to San Genuario in 1878.he Pianura Padana Vercellese agricultural area, with its abundant water, was the perfect soil for the respect of the land and the transmission of the art of rice cultivation from generation to generation. In 1935, Benedetto Picco, the fifth of eleven children, took over the management of Cascina Belvedere and, like the previous generations, passed on his art and passion for rice to the first-born Eusebio. Benedetto and Gianmario, their fathers, continued farming and developed the company in order to achieve and maintain quality. Along with classic rice production, seed propagation was introduced and various awards were given for the quality and purity of the variety achieved. At the end of the last century, the children of Gianluca and Massimo Picco, Benedetto and Mariacarla decided to sell their rice directly to the public, without having it milled by other companies, in order to offer a pure product that is controlled at every stage. Cascina Belvedere uses cultivation methods that respect the land, animals, air and water. They research the quality of the product with the same care, with the intention of offering real and very tasty products to the public. Their mission is to spread the culture of rice and risotto in the world, respecting traditions and the environment, but aiming for continuous innovations in line with modern consumer needs.
