On the nose, the floral and honey notes characteristic of the variety unfold. The full taste of the sip is complemented by a significant acidity, thus making the wine long, which brings out the entire flavor of Somló.
Quince, honey, apricot, compotes and sweet spices, completely dry.
The Kőfejtő Cellar is located on the western side of Somló hill, in the Séd vineyard, close to the former Kőfejtő. A part of our cultivated grapes is located here, about 1 hectare. Italian Riesling, Juhfark, Furmint and Hárslevelű.
We still grow grapes a little higher on the western side of the mountain, Juhfarkot and Furmint there. In the spring of 2020, we planted half a hectare of Juhfark on the south side near Taposókút, and we use an area on the south side of Ság-hegy where Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Juhfark grow. Thus, we currently farm on an area of about 3 hectares. We have not bought grapes since 2017, we only process our own harvest.
