The first herbal liqueur in the super premium category. The specialty of Unicum Riserva lies in its unique production process, the "double barrel" maturation. Unicum, which forms the basis of the product, is matured in the largest and oldest - 80-year-old barrel of the Soroksári út cellar system in Budapest. The special substance, the so-called "black honey", which has formed in the barrels of the barrel over many decades, makes the Unicum produced in it more characteristic. This is followed by aging in barrels from Tokaj cellars. This process adds roundness, softness and the inimitable character of Tokaj to the drink. Finally, to highlight and round out these characters, the 2007 vintage Tokaji aszú of the Zwack Izabella Dobogó Winery is added to the drink.

The founding of the Zwack factory is attributed to József Zwack, who opened his liqueur factory in Pest in 1840 (according to other sources in 1847) in Marokó-udvar (today's Erzsébet tér) to exploit the economic opportunities due to the change in the rules for distilling spirits. Production quickly picked up and in the catalog of the Budapest National Exhibition of 1855 they already reported a decent industry, the employment of 22 workers and exports of HUF 20,000-30,000. A little later, consumers could also receive feedback on the good quality of the products: Zwack products won two gold medals and several awards at the world exhibitions held between 1880-85. In 1881, they registered their first trademarked liqueur, Kincsem liqueur, named after the wonder horse of the time with no small marketing sense. Two years later, their new Unicum bitter liqueur also came under patent protection.
As soon as the well-known bittersweet taste of Unicum meets the sensually sweet Tokaji aszu, the complex taste of Unicum Riserva becomes softer, but at the same time spicier, more fruity with a hint of apricot, delicately herbal, cool, minty breath. Unicum Riserva combines exciting and exotic herbs with the seductive, honey essence of Tokaji in perfect harmony.
