Pastis, meaning 'mixture' in the Provençal dialect, is made from a blend of concentrated alcohol, star anise, liquorice powder, water, sugar and an infusion of numerous Provençal plants such as thyme, rosemary, savory, sage and verbena. Serve diluted with ice-cold water.
