100% Carmenere from the Colchagua Valley.
After lengthy research in several regions of Chile, François planted his vineyard on virgin terroir, with poor soil and a healthy, balanced climate. Today the estate has 28 hectares of vines and Lolol has been given "protected designation of origin" status. Hacienda Araucano lies near the historic town of Lolol, in Colchagua Valley.
Deep crimson colour. Fresh and intense aromas of prune, white pepper, notes of the "garrigue" such as rosemary and thyme, and hints of eucalyptus predominate. The midpalate is round with a dense tannic structure. This aromatic length is dominated by notes of red fruits, which adds contrast and complexity to this interesting wine.
