Mirrored, transparent drink. Gold color is associated with long-lasting foam. Highly carbonated. It smells of tiny honey and smoky with the aromas of forest mushrooms. Her big body fills her mouth, but we don’t feel lazy. The bubbly acidity pleasantly irritates our gums. It also returns in the taste of linden honey and smoky, but at the end of the sip, hops become predominant: this is the bitterest-tasting beer in the entire Chimay family.

Abbaye Notre Dame De Scourmont. For most beer consumers around the world, Chimay is synonymous with Trappist beer. Chimay was the first to sell its beers far and wide, not only in the immediate vicinity of the abbey, and they introduced the Trappist brand to the general public. Today, Chimay exports most of its beer from Trappist abbeys, selling 35% of its products abroad.
If we drink it with semi-hard or hard cheese at the end of the menu, as they do at Chimay Monastery, we can even feel like a monk. The beer was originally made for a festive occasion, the five hundredth anniversary of the existence of the province of Chimay. Hence its name: Cinq Cents, which means five hundred in French.
